ASID Tasmania is pleased to present:

Living the life I want’: a guide for planning

Workshop Description:  This course will introduce participants to key concepts in supporting a person with intellectual disability and complex support needs to set goals and make a person-centred plan. The training is practically focussed and built around the use of the UNSW developed ‘Living the life I want’: A guide to planning resource. Participants will receive a copy of the resource to use in their work. The course is suitable for frontline workers and family members who are engaged in supporting a person with disability to plan.

Presented by: Dr Angela Dew, Dr Angela Dew is a Senior Research Fellow and Research Lead with the Intellectual Disability Behaviour Support (IDBS) program at UNSW and has over 30 years working in the disability field in direct service, management, teaching and research roles. Dr Dew is the lead author of the guide which the workshop in centred on.  Ms Laura Hogan (President, ASID Ltd) will support Angela in the delivery of the workshop. Ms Hogan has an occupational therapy background and extensive clinical experience working with people with disability and complex support needs.
