Inclusion Australia
Inclusion Australia is the Australian national voice of people with intellectual disabilities and families. They want to see that people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
- have their rights respected and
- have the same opportunities as everyone else.
They work to
- make sure laws, policies and practices support the rights and interests of all people with an intellectual disability
- break down barriers to inclusion
- increase the voice of people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
Inclusion Australia is made up of member organisations, these include:
- Council for Intellectual Disability (CID) – New South Wales
- Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability (VALID) – Victoria
- Parent to Parent (P2P) – Queensland
- Speak Out Advocacy – Tasmania
- South Australian Council on Intellectual Disability (SACID) – South Australia
- Developmental Disability Western Australia (DDWA) – Western Australia
- ACT Down Syndrome & Intellectual Disability Australia (ACT DSID) – ACT
- Inclusion Northern Territory (INT) – Northern Territory
People First New Zealand
People First New Zealand is a Disabled People’s Organisation. This means they are by and for people with learning disability. In New Zealand they use learning disability instead of intellectual disability.
Their work makes sure people with learning disability
- have and know their rights
- finds their communities are inclusive across Aotearoa New Zealand.
