Transitions to living out of home for adults with intellectual disability
We do not know much about people with intellectual disabilities who move out of their home. We do not know about the challenges and benefits people experience.
We wanted to know what life was like for adults with intellectual disabilities after they moved from their family home.
We talked to adults with intellectual disabilities who had moved out.
We also talked to the family members of people with intellectual disabilities who had moved.
In this webinar we will talk about what we found out.
The presenter of this webinar is Ruth. She is an Associate Professor at Flinders University in South Australia and is an expert in talking with people about their experiences of getting older. She is interested in helping older people with intellectual disability and their family. Her current research is about people with intellectual disability after they move out of home.
