Submit an manuscript to the journal: Research and Practice in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (RAPIDD)

The journal, Research and Practice in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, is welcoming submissions for a special issue on “20 Years of the UNCRPD: What’s changed, and what hasn’t, for people with intellectual disabilities?”.

About:

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) was adopted in December 2006. This special issue will examine what has changed, and what hasn’t, for people with intellectual disabilities. Submissions are invited on any aspect of the Convention relevant to people with intellectual disabilities.

Submissions might:

  • be conceptual in nature, e.g. exploring the underpinnings of the UN CRPD
  • report original data from research or report publicly available data, especially from Australian or New Zealand sources
  • might be literature reviews, summarising and critiquing progress to date, and offering suggestions for the future.

Articles can focus on Australia, New Zealand, or both countries. The topics worthy of consideration are many and varied, and prospective authors should select one based on their interests.

If you would like to submit a manuscript, please visit their website here.

Submissions close on 31 January 2026.
