Frian is a parent of three children with learning and sensory disabilities and is a passionate advocate for inclusion and equity for children with a disability in Aotearoa New Zealand. She has navigated the challenges across the education, health and disability systems using a rights based approach and believes that better understanding of neuroscience and trauma informed approaches can support greater inclusion and well being for people with a disability and communities.

This webinar is relevant to anyone who supports or cares for a person with a learning (intellectual) disability and wants to ensure the holistic wellbeing of the person and prevent trauma. It is also relevant for people with a learning (intellectual) disability themselves so they can advocate for their own wellbeing.

The webinar will focus on:

  • why trauma informed approaches are important,
  • understanding the principles of trauma informed approach,
  • how they align with human rights and disability rights,
  • adopting trauma informed principles in your personal life or as an organisation.
